COLOUR COLLECTIVE

Project:

Pick a colour. Make an image/text which represents that colour for an A6 format, in an edition of 100. It will be bound together with everyone else’s colour swatches.

Outcome:

[Roman Red] Red is a powerful colour often used to alert and attract. So how can you make it look subtle?

Roman officers wore red during battle so that if they were wounded, it would not worry the nearby troops. I created a shade of red that is a personal interpretation of the red robes worn by the Centurians.

The screenprinted illustration and text are disguised by the red fabric, in the same way that the wounds of a Centurian would have been.
